Become a Parent Mentor

COMING VERY SOON!: Online Parent Mentor training!

Are you a parent who has felt frustrated by conflicting advice about caring for your baby? Have you ever wondered about the emotional needs of your baby, and how best to support your babies’ healthy brain development?  Learn about what the research says, and use it to support other new families in your community as a Certified PIPPS Parent Mentor!

Our vision is for all parents to have access to the support of a trained PIPPS Parent Mentor, helping them navigate the transition into parenthood. There are many ways our Parent Mentors can support the community, and running face 2 face PIPPS groups is one of our favourites! . We aim to have PIPPS groups available to anyone, operating just about everywhere! To achieve this, we need trained Parent Mentors.

The first step to becoming a Parent Mentor is to join PIPPS and familiarize yourself with the incredible content that lies within the PIPPS portal. Once you have access to the PIPPS portal, you will be select the training packages.

Our Parent Mentor training has been broken down in to small chunks, so busy parents can work their way through, bit by bit as time allows.

There are 3 major sections, each divided into small chapters:

  1. Neuroprotective Developmental Care (NDC) for parents
  2. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in the perinatal period
  3. Peer Support in the perinatal period

On successful completion of the training, you will receive a Parent Mentor Certificate, and may have the opportunity to run your very own PIPPS Group!
