General Practitioner

As the founder of The Moon Clinic, Dr Alison Mooney provides a new and holistic approach to the care of babies and their families. As a mum of two boys and a qualified medical professional for more than 12 years, Alison is passionate about finding solutions for common new parental issues around infant sleep, unsettled behaviour and crying, breast or bottle feeding and parental wellbeing. Alison provides parents with the latest research, providing them with the tools and knowledge to decide what is the best approach for their child that best suits their values, lifestyle and parenting style. She does this in a welcoming, comfortable and private setting that elicits confidence and collaboration in plans going forward. Originally from Scotland, Alison earned her medical degree at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 2008 and has lived and worked on the Central Coast since 2010. After several years of fertility problems and IVF treatment, Alison and her husband are now the proud parents of two energetic boys. The transformative experience has given Alison an understanding of both the rewards of parenting and the significant adjustment it brings to a family. This experience underpins the values of The Moon Clinic and the invaluable service she can provide to the families of the Central Coast.
