Dr Katie received her medical degree from James Cook University, Townsville in 2013. Following graduation, she relocated to Brisbane to commence her internship at Mater Health Services. She then completed an additional 3 years of hospital residency, gaining experience in obstetrics & gynaecology, paediatrics / neonatology, emergency medicine and internal medicine.
Dr Katie commenced specialist GP training in 2018 and received her fellowship with RACGP in 2020. She has achieved Possums’ Neuroprotective Developmental Care accreditation, with special skills in gestalt breastfeeding, sleep, unsettled infant behaviour and mental health challenges. Dr Katie is passionate about providing quality care and support for families, and has personal experience of applying the Possums program across her own journey as a new parent throughout the COVID pandemic. Dr Katie is a member of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine, and is currently working towards IBCLC certification.
Dr Katie works at both Banyo Clinic and the Possums Clinic. She consults Mon/Wed/Sat at Banyo Clinic and Fridays at the Possums Clinic. Initial Possums consultations are 60 minutes in duration and need to booked in by calling reception to ensure sufficient time is reserved for the consultation. Private fees apply for Possums consultations and are the same across both locations.
