Growing joy in early life!
Growing joy in early life!

Neuroprotective Developmental Care (NDC), also known as 'the Possums programs', aims to protect the rapidly developing infant brain and gut during the critical first 12 months of life, starting antenatally, and supports parents' mental health and psychological resilience during this challenging though rewarding time.

Possums - baby's health, mother's health, feeds, sensory, sleepUnlike other approaches to early life care, NDC uniquely acknowledges the interrelatedness of breastfeeding and infant feeding, sleep, baby's sensory needs, cry-fuss behaviours, and parental mood, offering innovative, state-of-the-art support in each domain. Our uniquely holistic approach is built upon peer-reviewed and published theoretical foundations, developed from over 15 years of interdisciplinary research collaborations. By consulting with NDC-trained health professionals, parents avoid fragmentation of care and conflicting advice.

"The Possums Clinic" and "Possums Education" are business names of our non-profit organisation and registered charity, Possums for Mothers and Babies Ltd (ACN 162 221 892).
