When Baby Comes Home - an informative antenatal session for parents

"I wish I had known this before!"

These are words we hear constantly from the parents we support. In response, Renee Keogh (Reg Nurse, Lactation Consultant, NDC Accredited Practitioner) has created a two hour class full of information and strategies that help you prepare for parenting your new baby in the early months.

  • Getting breastfeeding on track: what every new mother needs to know
  • What to expect from your new baby when you get home from hospital
  • Latest evidence-based advice on infant sleep, settling and feeding your baby
  • Supporting baby's sensory-motor and social needs for best developmental outcomes
  • Where to find good support

Available the first Saturday of every month. Come along and meet other parents who are also expecting! The cost is $50 for attendance by yourself and a support person. There is plenty of free on-street parking and paid undercover parking available.

Phone 07 3177 2000 to book your place.

If you aren't in Brisbane, Renee has videoed When Baby Comes Home, and it is available in the PIPPS resources for parents.

Skype or clinic antenatal appointment

Did you know that there is a lot that we can do to help make life with your newborn as enjoyable as possible, and to prevent unsettled infant behaviour? That it’s best to know this information before you have your baby? The first 16 weeks of life is a neurologically sensitive period, and some babies will cry. Yet there are a range of strategies which may help prevent unsettled infant behaviour – early intervention is the key. Ms Renee Keogh is accredited in Neuroprotective Developmental Care ('the Possums programs') and draws on the latest evidence to offer strategies that have been shown to help minimise cry-fuss problems and unsettled behaviour after the birth, sending you away with a practical plan of action.

The Possums approach is one of the few programs internationally that have been shown to substantially reduce cry-fuss problems.

Book an in-clinic appointment by phoning 07 3177 2000 or email info@paedsinapod.com.au for a Skype consultation.
